Plagiarism and Similarity Policy
SJETIS does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Submitted manuscripts must be the authors' original work, and all ideas, data, text, figures, and results from other sources must be properly cited.
Definition
Plagiarism includes copying text, ideas, data, or figures from others without attribution, submitting the same work to more than one journal, publishing substantially overlapping work (duplicate or redundant publication), and reusing one's own previously published text without citation (text recycling).
Similarity Screening
All submissions are screened for textual similarity using similarity-checking software at the initial editorial screening stage. The result is assessed in context by the editors: the similarity percentage alone is not a decision criterion. Matches in methods descriptions, standard terminology, and properly quoted and cited passages are evaluated differently from matches in the core results and discussion.
Actions
Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of plagiarism or redundant overlap may be rejected at any stage. For published articles, confirmed cases are handled according to the Retraction and Correction Policy, and authors' institutions or funders may be informed. Authors are given an opportunity to respond to allegations before a decision is made.
