Generative AI Usage Policy
SJETIS recognizes that generative AI and AI-assisted tools are increasingly used in research and writing. This policy promotes transparency and protects the integrity of the scholarly record.
Authors
Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors, because they cannot take accountability for the work. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the entire manuscript, including any content produced with AI assistance. Use of generative AI for text, code, images, or data analysis must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, naming the tool and version and describing how it was used. Basic spelling and grammar tools do not need to be disclosed. AI-generated images and fabricated data or references are not acceptable.
Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or review reports to generative AI tools, since this may breach confidentiality and proprietary rights. Peer review judgments must be made by the human reviewer.
Misuse
Undisclosed or inappropriate use of generative AI may lead to rejection, correction, or retraction, as described in the Publication Ethics and Retraction and Correction policies.
